Avery: 8 Weeks

Our sweet Avery Jane is 8 weeks old today! When I start to think about it, it seems like she'll be 6 months in no time! Well, Avery really is a sweet baby. She's content but will really let it rip if she's displeased. Displeasure comes in the form of dirty diapers, hunger, car seat strapping in and general feelings of abandonment :) She's definately laid back and doesn't mind hanging out in her bouncy seat or entertaining herself on the couch. She loves her mama and would always choose to be held above all other forms of entertainment. She's eating every 2.5 hours and naps whenever. She spends a lot more time awake these days and is very alert when she's awake. Her eyes seem to sparkle :) She smiles all the time now. It's so fun when you can get a smile out of them. The random ones are fun, but now knowing she's responding to us is great! She's doing really well at night, which is amazing to me! I didn't know babies could do well at night. It seems a lot of people have had these children, but sleep was hard to come by for the first 14 months with Grayson! She nurses at 9:30 and we lay her in cradle at 10:30. She'll usually sleep until 5:30. That can vary, somtimes she surprises us with a 2am wake up! Other mornings she's up at 4:45, but I'm not complaining! I'm going to start trying to move her bed time up by 15 minutes increments to try and get her down earlier. Right now if she goes down earlier than 10:30 she sleeps really lousy. We'll see :) I don't know how big she is, she hasn't been into the Dr. since her 2 week check. She goes in 2 weeks for her 2 month check up. She loves kisses from big brother and when he says, "Hi, Avie." Avery fits right in and it feels like she's been here a long time already!
