Diapers de Cloth

We've jumped in to the world of cloth diapering with Grayson. We started with just a few a little bit before Avery was born. I wanted to get "used" to them before she arrived! So, what made me make the switch? It was a long time coming to say the least. I had wanted to go with cloth when Grayson was born but there were so many unknowns. What kind, were they a total pain, would it really be worth it? I had two main reasons for wanting to do cloth. Saving money and getting tushies out of clorine treated diapers. I did have some nagging guilt over filling landfills with disposables that take forever to go away, but that's neither here nor there. Well, I put it off with Grayson even though I'd filled many an online shopping cart with different options. It was always in the back of my mind though. Well, when baby #2 was on board, the idea of cutting costs was even more enticing. My good friend had been using cloth and so I lovingly call her my "guinea pig". I was glad she had gone before me on this journey and could give me great advice! I'm sorry she had to go through some less than ideal diapers before we came across the bumGenius one-size cloth diaper. She ordered some and loved them! So, I registered for a few and tried them out on Grayson and I loved them! They're easy, easy, easy to use. (Even Andy will change them). They fit great, aren't bulky and completely wisk away any moisture. They're amazing. Seriously, no complaints. Dirty diapers leave something to be desired, but that would be an issue no matter what type of cloth you used. They're easy to wash, dry really quickly and I haven't had any of them stain yet. Two thumbs up for sure. So, I bit the bullet and ordered more. They are initially more expensive, but SO worth it. I've already recouped what I spent on Grayson's diapers. I found them for $3 off per diaper and couldn't resist! We now have 16 diapers, 8 for G and 8 for A. The great part is that the one size feature will make it so I only buy one set of diapers, this makes it so I'm not buying new sizes as they get bigger. The diapers Avery will start with will grow with her until she's out of them! So really, the little bit of extra money spent on this type of diaper will save me tons of money down the road. Plus, once Grayson's out of them I can use them for Avery. So, we're full in. We still use about 2 disposables a day, one at night and one first thing in the morning. Other than that, we're using them pretty consistently. I'm really glad we made the switch! It was definately a good decision in my mind :)

PLUS, he looks super cute in them!!
