Icky, Icky

We had our first run in with a fever around here with Grayson this week. Amazingly, we made it 14 months without having a fever over 99.5 or so. Even then, that was only with shots or teeth coming in.

This is what we came home to Tuesday night after Financial Peace University. Grayson completely zonked out on Laura. He had fallen asleep at 6:45! He felt a little warm, so we gave him some Tylenol and plopped him in his crib. He woke up around midnight crying but we left him in his crib. After crying on and off for over an hour (he's a tricky sleeper to say the least), Andy went in and sure enough, he was burning up. 101.8 and miserable. We gave him some more Tylenol and plopped him in bed with us. The next two days were awful! He did not handle a fever well. He slept all day Wednesday, only getting up to play a couple of times. Even with Tylenol he never dropped below 100. Wednesday night he hit 103.0 and cried every hour on the hour for about four hours. Thursday he was getting some relief and playing a lot more. Thursday afternoon he finally hit 98.6 and stayed there, right up until he got back up to 101. By the time he went to bed that night though he was 98.6 and held. Friday he was back to his normal self, aside from our now completely out of whack sleeping schedule! Today has gone much better sleep wise. I'm hoping he will forget about those wonderful naps off and on all day long with mommy on the couch! Definately an easy habit to get into and a hard habit to break!
This is the baby I like to see! It was so hard for me not knowing exactly what was wrong or how to ease his misery. Not fun at all for mommy or Grayson!
