We celebrated Andy's first Father's Day yesterday! It's amazing how exciting these firsts are. I am so happy that I was finally able to celebrate Andy for being a daddy. We've waited a long time for these milestones! I made cinnamon rolls Saturday night and baked them off Sunday morning. We ate cinnamon rolls had coffee and Andy opened his gift. I got him a custom card from Shutterfly and a copy of the DVD "Cars". Seems silly, but Andy has always loved that movie and he used to dream of watching it with his kiddos. We've had it saved on the DVR and I've been under strict instructions not to delete. So, for his first Father's Day (which I've deemed a sentimental one), he got something that would mean a lot to him. He can have a new BBQ next year! I wrapped the movie in wrapping paper that I made out of Grayson's handprints. That was a nightmare to do by myself!! He was attacking the paper. I got lots of hands, but all were missing a finger or two :) We just hung around and had a pleasant morning and then went to church. When we got home, I got lunch ready...baked macaroni and cheese, yum! My sister brought hot dogs and a crisp. Threw in some watermelon and we had lunch. My dad, sister, brother-in-law and niece joined us and it was wonderful! It was a nice day. I am reminded constantly what an amazing dad Andy is. I knew he would be...he has a heart for children. He is so helpful with everything, even laundry if I need it. He doesn't need to chill out when he gets home, he immediately comes looking for me and Grayson. Washes his hands, and grabs his son. He is my rock and I love him so much and I know that Grayson will always have a dad with character, integrity and a love for Jesus. The Lord has blessed me with such wonderful husband and father to Grayson. He has also blessed me with my dad. He is an amazing man who loves God and loves his family. He has made huge sacrifices throughout my life and I appreciate him so much. He's one of my best friends and I love getting to know him more and more each day. Well, here are some pictures from our Father's Day. Andy's first of many more to come!
