...please learn to sleep.
In all truth, this week has been much better. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Kind of. My kids have proven to not be excessive sleepers. When Grayson's sleeping well, that means an hour and a half nap, tops. He sleeps from 8-5:45 to 6:30 tops. That's actually plenty of sleep for his age and he does well on it. Let's just remember Grayson's been sleeping like that since he was barely a year. Wasn't great then :) Fast forward to baby girl. She, as I mentioned, slept great by 6 weeks. No joke. I didn't once take this for granted, yet here I be begging her to sleep. She's a poor napper, wakes up at least once a night and is up for the day by 6 at the latest. I've tried everything. Letting her scream for over a week straight, etc, etc, etc. I've regimented everything during her day to help her at night. From one end of the spectrum to the other, we've given lots of strategies a consistent, lengthy chance to no avail. This week has been a glimmer of hope though. {I can't even begin to express how leary I am to say this out loud :)} She's all of a sudden okay with the schedule I've been trying my darndest to get her on. She's been napping between 9:30 and 10 until hopefully at least 11. She goes back down around 2 for anywhere between an hour to three hours (okay, only once, but it was great!) Now, it really isn't as pretty as it looks. Some morning's have been 45 minutes until someone screams and wakes her up. Some afternoons she's up after 30 minutes and I sneak in and try to soothe her back to sleep. Having a light sleeper as a brother is definately a rough combinations for a girly who has a knack for screaming. Now that she pulls up in her crib the instant she wakes up she loses her drowsiness a lot faster. She's of course in the stage that she hasn't figured out how to sit back down. All this said, I feel good and am seriously hoping this nap schedule sticks. At night she's still getting up once, but she's easy to put back down about half the time and has been sleeping a little later. Today she slept until 7! Here's to documenting the little things, like sleep :)
