Avery ~ Six Months

Avery turned six months on the 2nd. Today we went to her check up. She's weighing 14lbs 4oz, is 25 3/4 inches long and her head is 16 1/4 inches around. She's doing much better on her weight. She got 3 shots which made her sad right away but she calmed down quickly. She's felt fine as far as I can tell and is happy baby. I'm going to start her on foods soon. She's really interested but I'm worried what solids will do to her already struggling nursing appetite. I'm sure we'll get it all figure out! She's still sleeping really well and is actually verging on awesome. She's been going down around 8:30 and sleeping until 7:30 the last couple of days. Andy tried her on a bottle of pumped milk and she hated it. She wouldn't take it at all. He's tried a couple of times and she is not a bottle baby. I certainly hope we can make it to a year or we're going to have a bottle battle. She's moving all around and wiggles to get a toy. She loves playing in the saucer but for only as long as she says and she prefers I stay in the room of course! She loves her mama and sometimes, I'm the only solution (which feels kind of nice!). She's got a bud trying to break through a tooth which has led to the sloppiest baby I've ever seen. She's constantly soaking wet on her shirt at least half way down the front. We're talking actual drool hanging off of her in streams. She loves to be sung to still and to dance around with mama or dada. She's starting to babble here and there (dadadadada of course). She squeals when you eat her belly or tickly her sides. She's truly a joy and growing up so fast!

And for our latest accomplishment, sitting up! She's been getting better over the last month and she's got the hang of it pretty well. She's still not unattended status yet, but she's really close!

So hard to believe Avery's already half way through her first year! So much changes and is learned through these first twelve months, I really want to catch it all!
