Avery Jane...Four Months
Sweet, sweet Avery. Such a happy baby, all the time. Quickly turning into more of a mama's girl. Entertained by her brother. Snuggler of daddy. Joy to everyone, whether first time meeting, or lifetime friends. Avery is moving into such a fun stage (I pretty much always say that, I know). She's squealing and laughing, especially when I sing Sugarland to her :) She's found her feet (just as I was getting ready to paint her toes, so now, no go) and loves chewing on her socks. I like that they're attached entertainment! She loves blowing bubbles and is a massive drooler. She's reaching for faces and stroking them when she gets there, so, so sweet. She's rolled over a couple of times and she loves trying to sit up. When she's laying down flat, she'll pull herself into a "C". Super baby! She take 3 good naps a day sometimes and other times she's a big fan of catnapping. She's sleeping in her crib at night now and has been for the last week or so. She could still be in her cradle in our room, but she wasn't sleeping as well in our room. She's doing really well in her room, waking up around 4:30 or 5:00, eating and falling back asleep (next to me, I won't lie!) and sleeping another hour or two. She's been very much more accepting of tummy time and loves watching the kids play around her. It's amazing she's doing all of this since the stinker is having a really hard time gaining any weight. She only put on 12 oz in two months. She went from 11 lbs at her 2 month appt. to 11 lbs 12 oz at her four month appt. I went and weighed her to see how much she was taking in and it wasn't much. She's just not sucking well enough at each feeding. So, that's what we're dealing with right now. Trying to flood her with milk :) If that doesn't work in the next few days, I'll start supplementing her with formula. I'm really hoping we can get her gaining so I don't have to stop nursing her, but what baby wants, baby gets. So whatever Avery wants, she'll have. It's hard to believe she's hungry, she's always so pleasant! I've definately noticed a change in her wanting to eat more often lately, so we'll see. I'm taking an herbal pill called fenugreek and that should help things along. Either way, we'll make sure she's healthy and happy! I'm loving having two kids although it's a lot more work these days. I have two very busy kids and it will only get busier!! Here's a few pictures of our sweetie...
