Our Monkey

Things have been pretty calm around here lately. Grayson and I enjoyed a week of mommy and baby time as the little girl I watch was on vacation. It was nice to only tote around one, but we look forward to having our friend back! Sweet Grayson seems to be growing up right before our eyes! He's sleeping really well in his crib and even puts himself to sleep every night with minimal crying. He's usually down around 8:00 and sleeps until 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning, rarely waking up in between. Finally! It seemed like he would never learn to fall asleep on his own. He's never slept with us consistently, but he had gone through a period of time here and there where he'd spend a couple hours in the wee morning in our bed because he would not go back down for nothing. Before we moved him to his crib, he was waking a lot in his cradle in our room. It's been a good transition for him to get into his own room. Grayson's rolling all over the place now and is sitting well. He'll still make a dive bomb to the floor, but he seems to enjoy being able to sit and play. He's got a good appetite and has so far sampled; rice cereal, bananas, applesauce, pears, squash, green beans and sweet potato. He's loved it all! On top of all that, he still loves to nurse too. He's learning to drink water from a sippy cup and a regular cup, but his favorite mode of water delivery is droplets from mama's straw! Grayson is a real "go-er" and I would definately call him an active baby. He's constantly moving his arms and legs. You can just tell he wants to go! I'm a little afraid of what that will mean when he starts crawling :) He is such a happy baby and has a great personality. He's very expressive and seems to have a "spark" already. All and all, Grayson is doing great! He was an ounce away from 15 lbs a week ago, so we have a 15 lb baby now for sure! Well, here's what we've been up to this last week!

  1. Absolutely precious! I love the hawk. Glad you had a nice quiet week. I am sure you will be wishing for that more often when you have 4 kids next November:) We need to get together again soon.
